The NCA High School Nationals is a premier, highly competitive cheerleading championship held annually in Texas, featuring over 500 teams from across the U.S., it showcases the best in Crowd Leading, Performance, and Game Day routines.

The PSJA Memorial Early College High School Wolverine Cheer Team, earned 1st Place in the Novice Varsity Crowd Leading Category, while the Raul Yzaguirre Middle School (RYMS) Cheerleading Team earned 1st Place in the Intermediate Non-Tumbling Junior High/High School Crowd Leading Category. Their performances showcased school spirit, precision, teamwork, and leadership on the national stage.

“It’s a feeling we’re never going to forget,” said PSJA Memorial ECHS Cheerleading Coach Alex Cano. “It means so much more than just a championship, it means bringing our community together and making dreams come true for these kids.”

For RYMS Cheerleader Madison De Los Rios, being named a National Champion is a moment she will never forget.

“Winning a National Title with my school cheer team was an unforgettable experience,” said De Los Rios. “Our team worked hard, stayed dedicated, and pushed each other to be our best, and our coaches were there supporting us every step of the way. Accomplishing this together means so much to all of us.”

These national titles mark a significant moment for PSJA ISD athletics programs, highlighting the districts' commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for students to continue to grow as leaders, teammates, and competitors beyond the classroom.
